Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has dedicated Nigeria’s 2018 FIFA World Cupqualifying campaign to his teammate Carl Ikeme.Ikeme started the qualifiers as Super Eagles number one goalkeeper before he was diagnosed with acute leukaemia.
After Super Eagles last 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier which ended 1-1 against Algeria, Balogun took to Twitter to dedicate the campaign to Ikeme.

“The road to Russia was an exciting and even more successful one. I dedicate this achievement to our teammate @Carl_Ikeme who started this journey with us. This one’s for you bro,” the Super Eagles defender wrote.
Balogun also expressed his pride in captaining Nigeria in their 1-1 draw with Algeria.
