'Last Comic Standing' Comedian, Ralphie May dies of Cardiac Arrest at 45


American stand-up comedian and actor, Ralphie May has died at the age of 45.

According to reports, May died of cardiac arrest at a private residence in Las Vegas on Friday morning following a brief battle with pneumonia. The comedian had performed on Thursday night at Harrah's in Vegas.
His death was announced by his rep on Facebook.

"We are heartbroken to announce the untimely death of our friend, Ralphie May. Ralphie had been battling pneumonia and had cancelled a handful of dates over the last month in an effort to recover. Earlier this morning at a private residence in Las Vegas his body was discovered, cause of death is cardiac arrest.''

"Two days ago he won the Casino Comedian of the Year at the Global Gaming Expo and had performances throughout the remainder of 2017 as part of his residency at Harrah's Las Vegas."

May who was known for his distinct delivery and stage presence, became a household name after featuring in the first edition of the reality-competition show "Last Comic Standing," which gave him an international recognition.

Since his death was announced, his colleagues including Kevin Hart and others have all taken to social media to mourn him.

Ralphie May is survived by his ex-wife Lahna Turner and two children April June May and August May.
