A woman is in trouble for helping her husband to rape a minor
A 21-year-old man, Sola Adewole,who allegedly indecently assaulted a five-year-old girl, was on Friday, September 15, docked before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused assaulted the underage girl by putting his hand into her private part.
Adewole, who resides at No. 38, Apata Street, Shomolu, Lagos, was charged for indecent assault.
The police prosecutor, Simeon Imhonwa, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Aug. 25 at his residence.
He said the accused assaulted the underage girl by putting his hand into her private part.
“The accused fingered the minor (name upheld) and also threatened to kill her if she informs anyone,’’Imhonwa said.
The prosecutor said the girl’s parents, who reside in the same compound with the accused, reported the case to the police after their daughter narrated her ordeal.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes section 135(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The accused however pleaded not guilty of the offence.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N400, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She said the sureties must be gainfully employed and should provide evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government and adjourned the case until May 30.
