The remains of ex-governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai, will be interred today, Saturday, August 19, 2017 in his village, Suntai, Taraba State.
Suntai's remains reportedly arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja from the United States at about 5:55 am on Friday aboard a British Airways aircraft, after which it flown to the Taraba State Airport, where Gov Darius Ishaku, and deputy governor, Haruna Manu received it.
Gov Ishaku declared Friday, August 18, 2017 a public holiday to enable the people of Taraba participate in the activities scheduled for the late Suntai's burial.
The late Suntai, who was aged 55, died on June 28, 2017, in the United States, where he was recuperating from treatment having sustained injuries when a private aircraft he was flying crashed on October 25, 2012. He was the governor of the state between 2007 and 2015.
